Setting a fundraising goal

How to choose a realistic target and adjust it as your campaign progresses.

Choosing the right goal

A clear goal motivates donors and creates a sense of progress. We recommend setting a goal that is ambitious but achievable — campaigns that reach 30% of their target early tend to gain momentum quickly because donors see their contribution making a real difference.

Consider: the size of your personal network, typical donation amounts in your community, and any offline donations you're expecting that you can add manually.

Changing your goal mid-campaign

You can update your fundraising target at any time from the campaign edit page. If you've already hit your original goal, raising the target keeps the "almost there" effect alive and signals to new donors that more support is still needed.

Campaigns without a goal

Setting a goal is optional. Some charities prefer open-ended campaigns that run indefinitely. Without a goal, the campaign page shows total raised but no progress bar.
