Verifying your charity status
The compliance review process, what we check, and how to speed up approval.
What we verify
Before granting full access to donation processing, our compliance team verifies: your charity registration number against the relevant UK regulator, the identity of the senior responsible person, and that your bank account belongs to the registered organisation.
This process is required by our payment processor Stripe and by UK financial regulations to prevent fraud and money laundering.
How long does it take?
Most accounts are reviewed within 1–2 business days. You'll receive an email when your account is approved or if we need additional information. During the review period, your dashboard is accessible but donation processing is paused.
Speeding up the process
Ensure the name and registration number you provide exactly match your official registration. Upload clear, current documentation when prompted by Stripe. If you haven't heard back after 3 business days, email compliance@kayana.co.uk with your charity name and registered email address.
