Fundraising ideas that work.

Popular ways to raise, each with a ready made page template.

Garden Party

Host a summer garden party with games, refreshments, and a gentle entry charge or donation ask. Low cost, community-focused, and great fun.

Sponsored Walk

Tackle a scenic route and get sponsored for every mile. Walks suit all ages and fitness levels, making them ideal for family and community fundraising.

Jumble Sale

Collect donated second-hand goods and sell them at a community sale. Low cost, community-building, and surprisingly profitable.

Charity Auction

Raise significant sums by auctioning donated lots — experiences, goods, or services. Live auctions generate energy; silent auctions work online.

Comedy Night

Book local stand-up comedians for a charity comedy night. Tickets, a raffle, and a collection make for a high-energy, high-yield evening.

Charity Concert

Organise a live music event with local bands or performers. Ticket sales, merchandise, and a bucket collection can raise significant sums.

Quiz Night

Run a pub quiz or venue-based quiz night. Teams pay to enter, you supply the questions. One of the easiest high-energy fundraisers to organise.

Charity Dinner

Host a sit-down dinner with a ticket price, live auction, and speeches. One of the highest-yield events per attendee when executed well.

Coffee Morning

Host a coffee morning at home, in the office, or in your community. Low overhead, highly social, and easy to organise in under a week.

Bake Sale

Homemade cakes, biscuits, and treats sold for charity — a timeless, low-cost event that works in schools, offices, churches, and community spaces.

Swim Challenge

Take on a distance swimming challenge in a pool, open water, or the sea. Accessible, low-impact, and surprisingly powerful as a fundraiser.

Sponsored Cycle Ride

Take on a distance challenge on two wheels. From a local 20-mile ride to a multi-day coast-to-coast epic, cycling challenges suit every fitness level.

Run a Marathon

Take on 26.2 miles for charity. Marathons are one of the most powerful personal fundraising challenges — supporters love backing a big physical goal.

Start a fundraiser for a nonprofit you care about

A fundraising page lets you raise money for a nonprofit campaign in your own name. Choose a campaign, add your story and a target, and share your link with friends, family and colleagues. Every donation goes to the nonprofit and counts towards its campaign.

You can fundraise on your own or as a team. A team page brings a running club, an office or a group of friends together under one name, while each member keeps their own page and progress.

Not sure what to do? Our fundraising ideas cover sports challenges, bake sales, quiz nights, auctions and sponsored walks, each with a step-by-step guide to plan the event, promote it and thank your supporters.

Running a nonprofit? You can publish your own campaigns and events on Kayana Aid, with no monthly platform fee to get started.

Common questions

Does it cost anything to start a fundraiser?

No. Creating a fundraising page is free. The nonprofit pays a small fee on each donation, shown on our pricing page.

Does the money come to me?

No. Donations go to the nonprofit running the campaign, through our payment partners. Your page shows how much you have raised towards your target.

Can I fundraise with friends or colleagues?

Yes. Create a team page for the campaign, or join an existing team, and raise money together under one name.

How do I get more people to donate?

Share your page link by message, email and social media, post updates as you go, and thank people as their gifts arrive. Our fundraising ideas include a promotion plan for every event.
